Greek energy minister to visit Baku on Feb. 12

Greek Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis will visit Azerbaijan on Feb. 12, the country’s embassy in Baku said.
Lafazanis will join a meeting of the advisory board of the Southern Gas Corridor to be held in the Azerbaijani capital.
The minister had earlier said Greece seeks to strengthen and upgrade its cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in the field of energy.
Lafazanis said his government supports the planned Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) but also wants Greece to benefit more from the link to carry Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe.
TAP is designed to ship 10 bcm of gas to Europe from 2019.
