Rep. Stephen Cohen hails Azerbaijan pardoning

Congressman Steve Cohen, co-chair of the Congressional Azerbaijan Caucus, applauded Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decision to pardon and release four civil society activists in Azerbaijan along with 80 other prisoners.

"The pardon and release of these civil society activists is an important step forward by Azerbaijan and underscores its commitment to making progress on human rights issues," Congressman Cohen said. 

"Azerbaijan is a valued ally of the United States, and I look forward to continuing my work with the Azerbaijanis to promote our common interests."
