Compared to the same period of 2023, the retail trade rose by 3.1%, food, beverage, and tobacco products by 1.8%, and non-food products surged by 4.9%.
During the reporting period, 51.1% of funds were spent on food, 4.9% on beverage and tobacco products, 15.1% for textiles, clothing, and footwear, 5.4% for motor gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.5% for electrical goods and furniture, 2.3% for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, 1.3% for the purchase of computers, telecommunications equipment, and printed products, and 15.4% for other non-food products.
Within the mentioned period, the cost of goods sold by economic entities in the non-state sector increased in real terms by 3.3% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 99.8% of the total retail trade turnover.
Compared to the period of January–March 2023, retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 5.1% for enterprises, by 2.8% for individual entrepreneurs, and by 1.5% for markets and fairs.
On average, an Azerbaijani resident spent 440.9 manats ($259.35) per month on goods, including 246.8 manats ($145.18) on food, beverage, and tobacco products, and 194.1 manats ($114.18) on non-food products.
