Shipments of RVs, long the nation's symbol of freedom in the great outdoors, are up 8 percent from last year, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.

'In March alone, wholesale shipment of all RVs spiked 8.5% to 36,535 units, the best March totals since 2007,' reads the trade association's report on the season's market trends.
