The Prosecutor-General’s Office of Azerbaijan initiated criminal proceedings against Xadica Ismayilova, a journalist with the Azeri service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, for a breach of state secrets, Ismayilova wrote on Facebook.

The journalist was invited to the Baku prosecutor’s office today for questioning after she shared on Facebook a letter Ismayilova said she had received from the Ministry of National Security.

The classified document reports about an opposition activist allegedly recruited by the secret service.
