Russia and Azerbaijan will consider the possibility of using other border crossings at the border to boost cross-border movement, Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister of Economic Development, told Trend.
"It is evident that the queues on the border crossings are clear markers of the lack of infrastructure needed to ensure a strong trade turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan," said the minister.
"All of this lays a huge burden on the infrastructure, and we are not just talking about this particular border crossing. It is a much broader issue of the development of infrastructure in the region, both on the part of Azerbaijan and that of Russia. We have agreed with our colleagues that besides completing the work on this border crossing, we will examine the possibilities of using other border crossings, and thereby, boosting the cross-border movement," said the minister.
Oreshkin stressed that the most important thing is to eliminate problems with border crossings for people engaged in transportation.
