Russian Foreign Ministry: Brussels never been interested in normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan

Brussels has never been interested in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on December 20.

"The main goal and task [of the Western world] have nothing to do with the settlement and normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but rather represent an attempt to take an anti-Russian position. This has nothing to do with resolving the long-term crisis in the region. Most likely, this is a desire to take a new anti-Russian position, to gain a foothold in it in close proximity to our country and hinder the implementation of everything positive, constructive and effective that was achieved with the participation of the Russian Federation,” Zakharova noted.
