Russian Foreign Ministry says “Macron playing with fire”

Russian Foreign Ministry says “Macron playing with fire”
09.04.2024 11:30
French President Emmanuel Macron is playing with fire by starting discussions about the possible sending of military contingents to Ukraine, the head of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexey Polishchuk, said in an interview with TASS.

"Such conversations cannot but cause concern. Politicians calling for military intervention in Ukraine are playing with fire,” the diplomat said, commenting on the corresponding statements of the French leader.

He added that many Western politicians sacrifice the national interests of their own countries to the political situation and election interests.

"It seems that they do not realize the risks of escalation and growth of the crisis. This is political infantilism. Our warnings about the consequences of continuing to pump weapons into the Kyiv regime are being ignored,” Polishchuk emphasized.
