Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny has been laid to rest at the Borisovskoye cemetery in Moscow, reported from Russian media.

While Navalny's parents took part in the funeral, his widow, daughter and son were not present as they remained abroad for security reasons.

The farewell ceremony was attended by ambassadors of Germany, France, the United States and other Western countries.
