Zaur Hasanov, father of five children, attempted to commit suicide by self-immolation in central Baku today, local media reported.Hasanov, who also has a second degree disability, doused his body with gasoline before setting himself alight, reports said. His life was saved by police officers who put out the fire and called an ambulance.
Hasanov, disabled during the Karabakh war with Armenia, said he had his land taken away from him by the Confederation of Trade Unions. He said the land was the only source of income for his family, Bizim Yol newspaper reported.
