Shmyhal: Ukraine, EU ink memo on allocation of €18B assistance

Ukraine and the European Union signed a memorandum on providing 18 billion euros of macro-financial assistance to Kyiv, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal tweeted.

"We expect to receive a tranche of 3 billion euros this week," he said.

Shmyhal said this assistance will help "maintain macroeconomic stability in the future."

Last year, the press service of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine reported that Kyiv received another 2.5 billion euros within the EU macro-financial assistance program. The total amount of aid provided since February 24 has reached 6.7 billion euros.

EC spokeswoman Dana Spinant said that the European Commission will monthly transfer 18 billion euros of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in 2023.
