SOCAR has decided to close down educational facilities that were part of the Azerbaijan International Education Center (AIEC), including Araz Courses MMC.
AIEC, which SOCAR is a shareholder, held a board meeting yesterday, the company said on its website.
According to the decision of the general meeting, it has been decided expedient to close “Araz Courses”, functioning under Azerbaijan International Educational Center and other structures founded by this PU, in order to avoid additional costs and taking into account the complexity of the project in terms of finance and administration.
At the general meeting it was also noted that "Araz Courses" will continue their activities until the end of the admission exams to universities and the rights and legitimate interests of beneficiaries, including students and teaching staff will be provided in accordance with the law.
The measures will be taken in order to provide education and employment places for the students and teaching staff before the new school year.
Azerbaijan International Education Center includes several kindergartens, 11 schools, "Araz Courses" and "Caucasus" University.
