Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced more crude oil andnatural gas in the first half of 2014 year-on-year, the company said in astatement.
SOCAR pumped 4.19 million tons of oil in the January-Juneperiod, up from 4.14 million tons a year earlier.
Gas production increased to 3.82 billion cubic meters from 3.59billion cubic meters.
Azerbaijan’s total oil output fell 2.8 percent in the first halfof the year to 21.2 million tons.
The BP-led Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields in theCaspian Sea provides nearly 80 percent of the total production.
ACG partners also include Statoil, Exxon Mobil, Chevron andTurkiye Petrolleri, among others.
