SOCAR reduces gas output 9% in 2016, oil down 8%

he State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) produced 6.267 billion cubic meters ( bcm) of gas in 2016, 8.8% less than in 2015, the company told Interfax.


SOCAR produced 539.9 million cubic meters of gas in December.


Azerbaijan produced 29.367 bcm of gas overall in 2016, 1.3% more, including 2.445 bcm in December.


SOCAR produced 7.521 million tonnes of oil in 2016, 7.7% less than in 2015, including 585,600 tonnes in December alone.


Azerbaijan produced 41.034 million tonnes of oil overall in 2016, 1.4% less, including 3.315 million tonnes in December.
