PSG's Argentinian player Lionel Messi was named L'Équipe Champion of Champions in 2022.

Leo received the award after collecting 808 votes. His PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe took second place (381 votes), followed by the Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal (285 votes).

Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel and Dutch F1 driver Max Verstappen completed the top five.
