Azerbaijan national team coach Santos dismissed

Azerbaijan’s football federation has parted ways with national team head coach Fernando Santos by mutual agreement, the body’s secretary general Jahangir Farajullayev said on Monday.

He added that youth team coach Ayhan Abbasov will take charge of the squad for Tuesday’s match.

The Portuguese coach failed to record a single win with Azerbaijan. Calls for his dismissal intensified after a heavy defeat to Iceland.
