A 2-0 victory over Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage lifted Azerbaijan’s Qarabag three places to 55th in UEFA’s club rankings.

The win gave Qarabag two points, bringing its total to 39 and moving it ahead of Belgium’s Gent, Spain’s Sevilla and Scotland’s Celtic.

Gent and Sevilla are not competing in Europe this season, while Celtic, on 38 points in the Europa League, still has a chance to overtake Qarabag if it beats Portugal’s Braga.

In the country rankings, Qarabag’s victory earned Azerbaijan 0.5 points. With 22 points, Azerbaijan remains 25th but has closed the gap on Serbia, which is on 22.375.
