The legal existence of Spotify in Russia has come to an end, as confirmed by the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The register’s data reveals that the sole legal entity representing Spotify’s streaming music service in Russia, Spotify LLC, was liquidated on December 14, 2023. This marks the termination of Spotify’s legal presence in Russia.

Reported from foreign media that Spotify LLC had been registered in Russia since January 13, 2014. However, the company submitted a request for liquidation on February 6, 2023, and eventually ceased operations on April 11, 2022. The decision to halt operations was made in response to "a comprehensive analysis of the prevailing circumstances."

With the cessation of Spotify’s services, all music streaming via Spotify has become inaccessible in Russia. However, users have the option to reactivate their accounts in a different country through the user settings.
