Sweden sees increase in prices for ammunition for Ukrainian Armed Forces

The price of ammunition necessary for Ukraine has risen 5-10 times compared to the spring of 2022, said Chief of Staff of the Swedish Armed Forces, Michael Claesson, reported from TASS.

"This is quite dramatic. I will not give specific figures, but we are talking about an increase in prices for ammunition and other material support by 5-10 times compared to what it was before the start of the war,” he said in an interview with Sveriges Radio.

The price of shells for the Archer artillery mount, which Sweden provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has increased eight times compared to 2021.

"Massive weapons are coming, not only we, but also most of Europe are thinking about it. Together with the needs of Ukraine, this creates enormous demand and competition for a place in the queue,” Claesson continued.

The first in line are usually those who place large orders for the long term. The more such customers, the more funds can be invested in the military-industrial complex.
