Tanap Dogalgaz Iletim has announced the names of steel-pipeline suppliers that have prequalified.
The companies are Baosteel Europe, Borusan Mannesmann, Noksel Celik, Erciyas Celik group, Corinth Pipeworks, Daewoo International, Emek Boru Makina, Essar Steel India, Man Industries India, Marubeni Itochu Tubulars Europe, Metal One Corporation, Metinvest International, Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (for 48’’ main line steel pipes), Salzgitter Mannesmann International, STS Tubular Group (for 48’’ main line steel pipes), Sumitomo Corporation, Toscelik Profil ve Sac, Trade House TMK, Umran Celik and Welspun Trading.
The 2,000 km (1,300 mile) Tanap pipeline will carry Azeri gas to the EU border through Turkey. Azerbaijan's state oil company Socar holds 68 percent of the project. BP has 12 percent and Botas 20 percent of the project, estimated to cost $7 to $10 billion.
