Asleep or awake?
The project of "TechFall 2016 Hackathon” which is charactarized as a training course and a competition designed for junior programmers, has started with the support of Azercell Telecom LLC and PASHA Bank and the organization of Barama Innovations and Entrepreneurship Center and WoWoman platform. Hachathon is a range of events bringing programmers together to solve various problems, develop projects and compete with each other. The programmers in Hackathon demonstrate their programming skills within a given period of time. Hackathon events are regularly held in various places over the world usually by gigantic companies, such as Google, Netflix, Facebook, HP and Microsoft.
Under TechFall 2016 Hackathon, the programmers are required to develop a new mobile application in 36 hours without falling asleep and submit it to the board of judges. Individuals who are over 18 years old are eligible to join the project as a team with 3 members. To participate in the project, please complete the registration at http://techfall.barama.az/qeydiyyat/ by October 31.
Selected teams will be entitled to join the final round to be held on November 5-6. During the final round, the teams will choose a topic based on a draw and develop an application within 36 hours. Once ready, the applications will be initially assessed by the technical board of judges. The teams will also present their applications before the professional judges in the presentation ceremony on November 9.
The winner of TechFall 2016 Hackathon will receive valuable gifts from Azercell and PASHA Bank, the 1st runner-up will be given a coupon for one-month participation in IT courses by Step IT Academy and the 2nd runner-up will get presents from Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
Ozsut, the chain of restaurants, will provide catering services to the teams throughout the project. Official media support to the event is provided by technote.az.
TechFall 2016 Hackathon is primarily aimed at promoting the IT industry in the country and provide the talented youth an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in this sphere. Furthermore, the facilitation to the development of various applications and tools and thus enabling the developers to test their knowledge in a competitive environment and obtain new knowledge can also be listed as the major project goals.
Barama Innovation Center was founded in 2009 by Azercell with the purpose of supporting entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. The Center generally supports the projects and start-ups in information technologies and helps them operate as business units. Barama Center has made a number of achievements during seven years of its activity. More than 100 projects were launched at the center and 40 of them completed successfully. 4 companies successfully running their operations have been established in the Center.
