The "technical corridor” for construction of the Trans-Anatolian (Tanap) natural gas pipeline has been prepared ahead of schedule, Tanap Co. said.
Work on the corridor was completed on February 2 against the previous target of March 15.
The 2,000-km pipeline is designed to deliver Azerbaijani gas to Turkey and Europe.
Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR holds 58 percent of the project, estimated to cost $11 billion to $12 billion.
BP has 12 percent and Turkey’s state pipeline company BOTAS holds 30 percent.
