Now more than ever people are taking to social media sites to show off their incredible holidays and showcase their travel photography.
In fact, according to Beautiful Destinations founder, Jeremy Jauncey, there are around 353 million travel related posts on Instagram – with many users tagging their locations on their uploads.
Instagram has revealed its top geotagged locations of 2015, and one thing was for certain – tourists love Disney, with four of the five parks featuring in the top 20 results.
It was the Disneyland in Anaheim, California, the original ‘happiest place on earth’ that ended up taking the top spot, followed by the bright lights of Times Square.
It was not the only New York attraction to feature on the list.
Central Park, Madison Square Garden, the Yankee Stadium, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Bridge and the iconic Empire State Building all made the top 20.
None of the London tourist sites featured on the round up and popular bucket list destinations like the Great Wall of China, Sydney Opera House and the Coliseum in Rome failed to make the cut.
