While most of the fog was gone by mid-morning, some photographers were up early enough to capture the stunning haze sweeping Manhattan. The dense bank of fog completely obscured both the Hudson and East Rivers in aerial photos, making the city look like it was floating on clouds. Jennifer Gormley snapped an especially beautiful picture around 7:30am when she woke up with her kids.Ms Gormley lives in Beekman Tower - the tallest residential building in Manhattan - and was able to capture an aerial view of the city.'We have an epic view out the living room,' Gormley told Poynter. 'We joke we have an ocean view.'A lighter fog also descended on Washington, DC, shrouding the Capitol Building in the early morning.(dailymail.co.uk)ANN.Az
