Trump aide Kushner set for late February Mideast tour

On a tour of Arab states later this month, presidential adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner is set to push a forthcoming Israeli-Palestinian peace plan, according to unconfirmed reports, Anadolu Agency reports.

Kushner will visit Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states of the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar and possibly Morocco, according to Israeli anchorman Barak Ravid, who announced Kushner's visit on Twitter.

Through the visits, the U.S. hopes to gather support and build a diplomatic strategy for the peace plan, set to be unveiled after the April 9 parliamentary elections in Israel.

White House officials told Ravid that the economic aspect of the peace plan will be on the table during the visits, including "huge" investments in the Palestinian economy, "mainly in Gaza,” he said.

Kushner, who is not expected to visit Israel on this trip, is reportedly the driver in the administration behind a deepening alliance between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.
