Several facilities in Azerbaijan have been allocated for Turkish armed forces under the presidential decree, News.az reports.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree July 20 to approve the protocol "On allocating buildings and structures in ‘Gizil Sherg’ military town, one terminal building located in the airfield in Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev settlement for the use of the personnel of Turkish armed forces.”
The relevant protocol was signed by Azerbaijani and Turkish governments July 3, 2016, Trend reports.
Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry was instructed to execute the provisions of this protocol, while the Foreign Ministry was tasked to notify Turkish government about fulfillment of intrastate procedures necessary for the protocol to enter into force.
