Zeki Colak, the commander of the Turkish Ground Forces, has arrived in Baku for a four-day visit.
Colak on Tuesday met Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov.
"We need to be together to be powerful,” the Turkish general said, according to a statement on Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry website.
Hasanov stressed the importance of joint Turkish-Azerbaijani drills held in the past few years. He said cooperation between the two countries’ militaries will be expanded.
High-level visits have intensified between the Azerbaijani and Turkish armies in recent months. Hulusi Akar, the chief of the Turkish General Staff, visited Baku last month.
