Turkish vessels stranded in Ukrainian ports to return home in 5 to 10 days

The Turkish vessels that were blocked in Ukrainian ports amid war in this country will return home within 5 to 10 days, Yusuf Karakas, Deputy General Manager of the International Service Trade of the Ministry of Trade and coordinator of the grain corridor said, reported from TASS.

"Currently, the vessels belonging to Türkiye will remain in Ukrainian ports due to the continuing conflict. The situation with these vessels is being constantly monitored by the Ministry of Trade and Joint Coordination Center. These vessels are expected to be delivered to Türkiye within the next 5 to 10 days," Milliyet newspaper quoted Karakas as saying.

Türkiye, China and Spain received more vessels with food as part of the grain deal, Karakas said.

"Up to date, the grain corridor transported 30.3 million tons of grain on 953 vessels. A bigger part of production was sent to China. This is 23% of the total volume. Spain's share makes 18% and Türkiye's share makes 11.87%. Overall, Türkiye accepted 222 vessels and 420 passed via it within the framework of the grain corridor," the coordinator said.
