Armenian troops continued violating the ceasefire yesterday, firing on Azeri army positions that left two servicemen injured, the Ministry of Defense said.
Soldiers Elmirad Qurbanalizada and Asim Quliyev were hospitalized with bullet wounds, it said.
The ministry gave no further details of the incident.
Armenia occupied nearly 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s internationally-recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts, in a war after the Soviet Union’s breakup in 1991.
Large-scale hostilities ended with a ceasefire in 1994 and the sides have yet to sign a peace agreement.
