Ukraine launches single register of missing people

The Unified Register of Missing Persons has been launched in Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Reintegration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported from RBC-Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, tens of thousands of people have been considered missing. The vast majority of them were found, but the list of missing persons has also been officially confirmed - about 23,000 people.

Thus, personal data on missing persons will be collected and centralized in the registry. A month after entering the relevant data in the register, relatives will be able to receive an appropriate extract confirming the status of the missing person. Based on the extract, people will be able to apply to the Pension Fund to receive a survivor’s pension, which is issued to disabled relatives.
