Ukraine sees highest intensity of attacks on Kyiv since early year

The air alert in Kyiv lasted more than 3.5 hours. The city’s military administration said the capital had been hit for the third time since early May. It is claimed that there has not been such an intensity of strikes since the beginning of 2023, reported from the Ukrainian media.

The Russian Armed Forces carried out an attack on the capital with the use of loitering Shahed-type ammunition and rockets, probably of a ballistic type. Air defense forces shot down all enemy missiles and UAVs. Ukraine’s Air Force shot down 21 of the 26 Shaheds launched.

As a result of Russian shelling of Kherson and the Kherson region, 21 people were killed during the day, and 48 more civilians were injured, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel. In addition, a supermarket, a gas station, a railway station and other objects were shelled.

On May 3, Moscow accused Kyiv of trying to attack the residence of Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin using drones. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied allegations of involvement in the incident.
