The Ukrainian Armed Forces have liberated a settlement in the Donetsk Oblast from the Russian military, said Pavel Kirilenko, head of the Donetsk regional military administration, reported from UNIAN.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces pushed the Russian occupiers out of a settlement. The invaders tried to block one of the main roads to Bakhmut but were defeated," Kirilenko said.

He said on May 19, Avdiivka, Ocheretovskaya, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, and Toretsk came under enemy fire: "One of the settlements where the enemy was moving was also liberated. Therefore, fierce fighting continues, it is very difficult. People must be evacuated to make it easier to liberate our territory."

He did not disclose the name of the liberated settlement. Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry asked citizens not to reveal the names of territories liberated in accordance with the rules of war.
