Shmyhal handed over to the pontiff a photo album about Russia's crimes in Bucha, Borodyanka and other cities of Ukraine. The prime minister also expressed hope that the Vatican would join the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula, in particular, the process of returning prisoners and deportees.
The head of the Ukrainian government thanked the pontiff for humanitarian assistance, as well as for the treatment of Ukrainian children affected by Russian aggression in the Vatican hospital.
"We will be happy to welcome the pontiff in these difficult times. We hope that the Holy See will use its influence to restore peace to all our lands," he stressed
