US congressman makes statement in connection with Khojaly tragedy

On February 26, Congressman from the state of Montana (USA) Ryan Zinke made a statement to Congress in connection with the 23rd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy.

News.az reports with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijani embassy in the US that according to R.Zinke despite attempts to understate the real extent of the Khojaly tragedy, 613 Azerbaijani civilians became the massacre victims on 26 February 1992.

At the same time the congressman stressed close relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as an important contribution of our country's operation in Afghanistan. He stressed that this day is important to recognize the tragedy of Azerbaijan - the US partner.

On February 25, Congressman Zinke made speech at the memorial ceremony held by the US Congress in connection with the 23rd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy. On the same day, Congressman from California Judy Chu issued a statement supporting the aggressive policy of Armenia. However, the statements of Congressman Zinke brought the truthfull information to the memebers of Congress.
