The United States has imposed sanctions on Colonel Vadim Kalinin, the head of the penal colony where Alexei Navalny died,  reported from Gazeta.Ru.

On February 23, US President Joe Biden announced the introduction of more than 500 new sanctions against Russia.

He noted that Washington made this decision in connection with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the situation with Alexei Navalny. According to Biden, the new restrictions will be directed against the Russian financial sector and the military-industrial complex. In addition, the measures will affect persons evading sanctions.
