Called “Along the Silk Road with music”, the concert was organized by the Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Ministry and the country`s Embassy in Rome. Audience at the concert included Italian state and government officials, parliamentarians, representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps, culture figures from both countries, tourists and Verona residents, AzerTAc reports. Speaking at a ceremony prior to the concert, Mayor of Verona Flavio Tosi described the event as “a strong signal of the expanding Azerbaijani-Italian relations and close cultural ties of the two people”.Azerbaijani Ambassador in Rome Vagif Sadigov said the concert was “a brilliant opportunity for us to promote Azerbaijani music in Verona”. “The concert will feature performance of Italian Orchestra Italiana del Cinema symphonic orchestra and Qarabagh mugham ensemble, as well as Azerbaijani singers Mansum Ibrahimov, Aygun Bayramova and Azer Rzazade. It will be conducted by the People's Artist of Azerbaijan Yalchin Adigozalov.” He said: “For the first time Azerbaijani and Italian musicians will perform together at this concert.”Ambassador Sadigov praised the assistance of the leadership of Veneto region and the city of Verona in organizing the concert.Prominent Italian singer Albano Carrisi, who was a guest of honor at the concert, performed his popular hits.
