Water level in Kura River up 45 cm

The water level has increased by 45 cm in the Zardab point of the Kura River, said Asif Verdiyev, director of the Hydrology Center of the Service.

According to him, the peak period continues in the country's rivers. The water level in most rivers has increased due to unstable weather conditions: "The water level in Zayamchay flowing through the Gazakh-Ganja region increased by 3 cm, in Kurakchay by 6 cm, in Guruchay flowing through the Fuzuli district by 31 cm, in Alijanchay flowing through the Oghuz district by 5 cm, and in Gudyalchay flowing through the Guba district by 3 cm. As a result of a sharp increase in the water level in the Turyanchay, Goychay, and Demiraparanchay rivers flowing from the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, the water level in Garasuchay rose by 1 meter 25 cm on June 17, and as a result, the water level in the Zardab point of the Kura River rose by 45 cm, in Surra by 76 cm, and in Salyan by 20 cm.”

Verdiyev said that as a result of the heavy downpour, the Asrik River flowing through the Tovuz district and the Goranchay River flowing through the Goranboy district flooded.
