Welcome to the ISIS fanatics' fairground

Perhaps inspired by Banksy's bemusement park Dismaland, ISIS have bemused social media users by showing off pictures of two new fairgrounds in its territory in Syria and Iraq.

The new theme parks were opened near ISIS's self-styled capital of Raqqa in Syria and the Iraqi city of Fallujah.

The propaganda photos attempt to portray the apparent normality of life under the brutal jihadi regime, with smiling children enjoying the rides in the war-zone.

ISIS released the photos on social media, claiming in a short statement that the parks were opened to celebrate Eid.

The images show a dismal looking park, with an miniature train tightly packed with a small group of young children.

A bouncy castle is also supposedly in the Syrian fairground, known as 'Ride City' although it is not shown in any of the photographs.

Several of the photographs have been taken at night, capturing the bright lights of the ferris wheel, positioned alone in the arid dirt land near Fallujah.

The floodlit fairground in Iraq appears to have been re-furbished by the jihadi group, with several jihadis claiming on social media that there was free access on certain days.

The photos come after claims that Russian fighter jets targeted an ISIS military command base in Raqqa province.

'Over the past 24 hours, Sukhoi Su-34 and Su-24M fighter jets have performed 20 sorties and hit nine Islamic State installations,' Igor Konashenkov, Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman, said, according to Russia Today.

'A bunker-busting BETAB-500 air bomb dropped from a Sukhoi Su-34 bomber near Raqqa has eliminated the command post of one of the terror groups, together with an underground storage facility for explosives and munitions,' the spokesman said.

Russia also targeted bases in Maarrat al-Numan, claiming they were removing a crucial ISIS supply line of fuel and equipment despite the jihadi group have no presence in the city.
