"First of all, we want to emphasize that the use of the term 'Artsakh' in the document, associated with ethnic cleansing and occupation, is disrespectful to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan," the statement notes.
"The document attempts to interpret the refusal of Karabakh Armenians to accept Azerbaijan's offer of reintegration and their voluntary departure from the country as coercion, and makes other unfounded claims. The author of the document completely ignores the fate of a million Azerbaijanis who were subjected to ethnic cleansing in Armenia and in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. At the same time, the document contains no information about the large-scale destruction committed by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, about the installation of 1.5 million mines there. The document also says nothing about Armenia hindering the return of hundreds of thousands of expelled Azerbaijanis and trying to present their right to return in a negative light.
All this indicates that this document is a continuation of an international campaign conducted by certain forces that do not recognize the fact that the conflict was resolved in accordance with international law, and are trying to reignite it. We strongly condemn such steps and demand that members of the Scottish Parliament stop this provocation," the statement says.
