Hungary's low-cost airline company Wizz Air said in an e-mailed interview with Azerbaijan News Network (ANN):
"Wizz Air suspended its Budapest-Baku service when Baku Airport unilaterally changed our contract. Wizz Air has never refused to pay for services rendered, in Azerbaijan or elsewhere.
"We make our service decisions based on a number of factors, the most important of which is that it makes business sense for us. We have to be able to provide our high level of service at prices the market expects from the largest low-cost airline of Central and Eastern Europe.
"Since WIZZ has already deployed its 2015 capacity on other routes, restarting the route in 2015 is mostly unlikely. However, the airline will study any new proposals it may receive regarding the subject. Should the airport costs and a new agreement with several years' validity allow for a reintroduction of low fare flights to Azerbaijan, this will be announced once a decision has been made."
