U.S. cuts $2.2 billion in federal funding to Harvard University

The U.S. Department of Education has announced the suspension of $2.2 billion in federal funding to Harvard University.

According to the statement, the Special Joint Division for Combating Antisemitism has frozen $2.2 billion in multi-year grants and an additional $60 million in long-term contracts allocated to the university.

Earlier, it was reported that the U.S. government was reviewing a total of $9 billion in funding for Harvard. The university administration had warned that such cuts could lead to the downsizing of academic and research programs.
