Kyrgyz president, Turkmen People's Council chairman discuss bilateral ties

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov held talks with Chairman of the Turkmen People's Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow during the latter's working visit to Cholpon-Ata, the Kyrgyz leader's press service said.
Japarov and Berdimuhamedow discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, including trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries and regional initiatives, the press service said in a statement on Wednesday.
Japarov, for his part, said that it is important to create a Kyrgyz-Turkmen development fund using Kyrgyzstan's experience of setting up similar bilateral funds with Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Berdimuhamedow, for his part, reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment and readiness for active interaction in all key areas, including trade, gas, energy, transport, culture, and education, it said.
