Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss regional tensions following India's actions in Pahalgam, Pakistani media reported.

Dar rejected India’s "unilateral and illegal moves" and criticized what he called New Delhi’s "baseless propaganda." He praised Beijing’s steadfast support for Islamabad and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its enduring partnership with China.

Both sides pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation and to promote regional peace and stability.

In a separate statement, Dar said an "effective strategy" had been adopted in response to the Pahalgam incident. Speaking at a ceremony in Lahore, he described India's move to terminate the Indus Waters Treaty as "irresponsible," stressing that no country can unilaterally amend or suspend the treaty without mutual consent.
