Trump slams Amazon over possible display of tariff costs

U.S. President Donald Trump called Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on Tuesday morning to express anger over reports that the company was considering displaying import tariff costs alongside prices for certain items, CNN reported.
The call came shortly after a senior official briefed Trump on the matter. “He was furious,” a source told CNN. “Why should a multibillion-dollar company pass that cost on to consumers?”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the move “a hostile and political act,” noting she had discussed it with the president.
An Amazon spokesperson told CNN that such a change “was never under consideration for the main Amazon site and has not been implemented on any Amazon properties.” The company said it had explored the idea of listing import duties for specific items on its low-cost platform Haul, which sells goods under $20, but the idea had not been put into action.
