Iran, Pakistan discuss regional security amid India-Pakistan tensions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with Pakistan’s army chief General Syed Asim Munir amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported.
The two officials held “constructive discussions on the geostrategic situation, with a particular focus on shared security challenges,” according to a statement from the Pakistani military, cited by IRNA.
They agreed to continue dialogue and expand bilateral cooperation aimed at fostering positive developments on regional issues. Araghchi also praised Pakistan’s efforts toward peace and stability in the region.
The sides also discussed improving border security coordination along the Pakistan-Iran frontier.
