Russia has deployed up to 640,000 troops in the war effort

Russia is using a military force of up to 640,000 troops in its ongoing war against Ukraine, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi said during a video address at a NATO–Ukraine Council meeting of top military leaders.
“Despite diplomatic appeals, Russia has not abandoned its goals on the battlefield. It has turned its aggression into a war of attrition,” Syrskyi said, as quoted by Ukrainska Pravda. He noted that intense fighting continues along a front line spanning around 1,100 kilometers.
Ukrainian forces, he added, continue to carry out effective defensive operations, inflicting significant losses on Russian troops.
Syrskyi also highlighted Ukraine’s needs for individual and collective training abroad, military equipment, weapons, and logistical support.
