5.8 magnitude earthquake strikes Turkey — 1 dead, 69 injured

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Marmaris region of Muğla Province in Turkey.
According to “Qafqazinfo”, citing AFAD, the tremors were recorded 10.43 km off Marmaris, in the Mediterranean Sea.
The earthquake occurred at 02:17 local time (03:17 Baku time) with the epicenter at a depth of 67.91 km.
The quake was felt in İzmir, Antalya, and several other provinces.
According to “TRT Haber”, Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık initially reported 11 injuries caused by panic and falls from heights.
“There are 11 injured due to panic and jumping from heights,” he stated, adding that no structural damage was reported.
In the latest update, Governor Akbıyık confirmed that 1 person died during the panic, and the total number of injured has risen to 69.
