Pashinyan accused of alliance with Sargsyan to undermine Kocharyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been accused of cooperating with former President Serzh Sargsyan in a bid to discredit another ex-president, Robert Kocharyan, according to Russian media executive Aram Gabrelyanov.

In a post shared on social media, Gabrelyanov claimed that Sargsyan and Pashinyan are engaged in a joint effort to weaken Kocharyan and his political party. He alleged that Sargsyan was recently granted permission to leave Armenia and is seeking a meeting in the Kremlin with the support of a Russian oligarch.

“The plan is for Sargsyan to act as a mediator to save Pashinyan. He wants to convince Russian authorities that Pashinyan is ready to beg for forgiveness,” Gabrelyanov wrote, adding that Sargsyan reportedly harbors as much animosity toward Kocharyan as Pashinyan does.

He also claimed that members of Sargsyan’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) are dissatisfied with his actions and view his behavior as a betrayal.

Armenian officials and representatives of the RPA have not publicly responded to the allegations.
