Trump leaves G7 summit early

U.S. President Donald Trump left the G7 summit in Canada ahead of schedule and rejected French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim that the departure was related to Middle East ceasefire negotiations.
“President Macron, in a bid for attention, falsely stated that I left the G7 summit to work on a ‘ceasefire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong! He has no idea why I’m going back to Washington — but it has nothing to do with a ceasefire. It’s something much bigger,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump would leave the summit early.
The G7 summit has taken place against a backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East and growing diplomatic rifts among world leaders.
