Erdogan and Trump discuss bilateral ties at NATO summit in The Hague

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit of heads of state and government in The Hague, Erdogan’s office said on Tuesday.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and the United States, as well as regional and global issues.
Erdogan welcomed the ceasefire reached between Israel and Iran through Trump’s efforts and expressed hope it would be lasting.
He also stressed the importance of close dialogue to end the humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip and to seek a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Both leaders underlined the need for further steps to strengthen NATO.
